Water Wells Optimization |

Scope:
Reduce cost of process water by installing two
automated water well systems. |

Services Provided:
Analyzed existing process water cost and determined
feasibility and economics of installing water well
systems; provided equipment and piping layout and
design; obtained permits from SCDHEC to install
wells; coordinated work with well drilling
contractor and piping contractor for installation. |

Rebuild
"A" and "B" Paper Machines |

Scope:
Complete rebuild of paper machines including pulp
handling, stock prep, stock approach and headbox. |
Services Provided:
Lead mechanical engineer on both projects;
coordinated work with staff design engineers,
vendors and installation contractors; developed
planning and scheduling for installation of
mechanical equipment; interfaced with equipment
vendors and inspected equipment prior to shipment;
wrote check-out and start-up plans and coordinated
with construction and maintenance.
STS also provided electrical engineering,
electrical design and CAD operators for the
rebuild of Machine B. |

Tower Rebuild |

Scope:
Replace three 16' diameter fans, drives and stacks
with screens; structural repairs and upgrades;
painting and piping replacement. |

Services Provided:
Managed rebuild of 35 year old 100' x 30' x 20' tall
cooling tower to improve performance and address
structural deficiencies; repaired, upgraded and painted
steel support structure; worked with Marley
Cooling Tower on internal structural improvements;
redesigned make-up water piping system and redesigned
external cooling tower screens; supervised all
installations. |

Equipment layout and selection for 15 chemical
additives for paper machines and water treatment
